Geoffrey:
Bummer about the bursitis. Give your body a one week rest of the bike for starters and plan on gradually reintroducing the bike with easy rides, no big gear mashing or big hill climbing. Visit with your PT and your doctor about when you can expect to crank up the miles and intensity. You want to avoid over doing it too soon as it could set you back several weeks.
