Doc Nolan, I received a small perforation in the back of my elbow from a sharp rock when I went backwards off my bike on a steep hill. Very little pain but the small 1/2" cut won't heal and keeps seeping fluid. The fluid that leaks out is clear. Tried an ace bandage to immobilize elbow for 3 days (to give cut time to heal) and the cut scabs over, but as soon as I bent my elbow, after removing bandage, lots of fluid came out. Fluid pressure seems to build up to a point where the cut opens again and then it drains. It has been 4 months since the original injury. What should I do? _________________ Just Ride |

Manster:
From your description, you may have punctured the bursa sac which is a fluid filled sac at the back of the elbow that provides a lubricating, cushioning layer for the triceps tendon to glide over the posterior elbow. Seek medical attention especially with an orthopedic surgeon, this can become infected and lead to serious problems.
